The blast took place in the mosque area of SMAN 72 school. At that time, students, teachers, and several residents around the school were performing Friday prayers in the mosque. Several witnesses heard two explosions and saw modified cans with fuses and a small remote. Meanwhile, the second explosion occurred a few minutes later behind the school canteen.
The incident is believed to have been orchestrated by a student from the school. The suspected perpetrator was also seriously injured and is currently being treated in the hospital. "If I'm not mistaken, there are two or three patients. That's what we plan to evaluate, we will look further into it," he said when met at RS Yarsi, Central Jakarta, Saturday, November 8, 2025. Burst eardrums, he said, may have occurred in victims due to sudden loud noises.
He couldn't confirm whether the long-term effects of a ruptured eardrum would lead to reduced hearing in the future. He only mentioned that the hearing of patients who have undergone ear drum repair procedures usually returns to normal. "It should be able to return to normal. There's something called audiometry. That's what we will do first," he said.

Details of the findings will be announced by the Police Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor). "In the near future, the chief of police will carry out a complete release from all work units," he said.
