TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Musician couple Jay-Z and Beyonce made their first public appearance a day after rapper Shawn Corey Carter, also known as Jay-Z, denied rape allegations involving a minor. They attended the premiere screening of the film Mufasa: The Lion King in Los Angeles, California, United States on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Beyonce returned as the voice of Nala in the movie Mufasa: The Lion King, a new prequel to the 2019 remake of The Lion King. The couple's first child, 12-year-old with initials BIC, also voiced the character Kiara in the musical animated drama film. Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala.
All three appeared on the red carpet and took photos together in front of the media. Beyonce and her eldest daughter wore metallic gold dresses, while Jay-Z wore a black suit and tie. Beyonce specially expressed her full support to her daughter for her involvement in the Disney film that will be released in Indonesian theaters on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Beyonce posted on Instagram on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, saying, "My beautiful little girl. It's your night. You work hard and do an amazing job as Kiara's voice. Your family is very proud. Keep shining".

Jay-Z Accused of Raping a Minor Alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs
People reported that Jay-Z was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl 24 years ago in a civil lawsuit filed in New York on October 20, 2024. The lawsuit was filed by an unidentified woman or Jane Doe. Jay-Z's name surfaced after the lawsuit was revised on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Previously, only Sean 'Diddy' Combs was mentioned with two celebrities being kept anonymous. The identity of one female celebrity who allegedly witnessed the incident has not been disclosed.
Jane Doe accused Diddy and Jay-Z or Carter of drugging and raping her at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. "Defendant Sean Combs, alongside close friend and collaborator Shawn Carter (aka 'Jay-Z'), drugged and raped a thirteen-year-old girl at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards," the lawsuit read. "Another celebrity stood and watched as Combs and Carter took turns assaulting the underaged victim."
Jay-Z's Denial
Jay-Z immediately denied the allegations through a tweet on his company's Roc Nation account. He deemed the claims as unreasonable and suspected extortion. "These allegations are so outrageous that I urge you to pursue criminal charges, not civil!! Anyone who commits such a heinous crime against a minor should be imprisoned, don't you agree? The accused victims deserve true justice if that's the case," he wrote to Jane Doe's lawyer, Tony Buzbee.
Furthermore, Jay-Z expressed his concerns about the impact of these allegations on his family. Due to this case, he and Beyonce quickly explained to their three children, aged 12 and the twins aged 7. "My wife and I have to sit down with our kids, one of whom is at an age where their friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of this claim, and explain the cruelty and greed of humans," Jay-Z wrote.
