TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chief of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and the suspect in a bribery case involving Harun Masiku, Hasto Kristiyanto, has filed a pretrial motion on Friday, January 10, 2025.
South Jakarta District Court spokesperson Djuyamto said Hasto Kristiyanto's pretrial lawsuit file had been registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN.Jkt.Sel.
Djuyamto said that the first pretrial hearing against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He himself will be the judge. “Djuyamto has been appointed as the sole judge,” he said.
Previously, KPK suspected PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto to be involved in the escape of former PDIP cadre Harun Masiku. Hasto is also suspected of being the source of money given to bribe former General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.
KPK Chair Setyo Budiyanto also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, a member of the PDIP legal team, as a suspect in the bribery case.
Donny was Hasto’s trusted person to hand over bribe money. Both of them also worked together to compile legal documents necessary to determine Harun Masiku as the replacement for former House member Nazarudin Kiemas, who passed away.
Setyo said Hasto and Donny violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Corruption Eradication Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
In addition to the bribery case, Hasto Kristiyanto was also named as a suspect in obstruction of justice for assisting the escape of Harun Masiku.
“On January 8, 2020, during KPK's arrest process, HK ordered Nurhasan to call Harun Masiku to immerse his cell phone in water and run away swiftly,” Setyo said.
For his action, Setyo said, Hasto Kristiyanto was charged with Article 21 of Corruption Eradication in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
