TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN, becomes the third state-owned enterprise called by the newly formed investment management agency, Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara or BP Danantara. The meeting is an introduction forum between PLN's board of directors and the new body under Prabowo Subianto's leadership.
During the meeting, the President Director (Dirut) of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, presented some of PLN's main tasks to Danantara. "So today we are meeting, getting to know each other. In this regard, PLN's task is to provide affordable clean energy to support 8 percent economic growth," he said after the meeting held at the BP Dananatara office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
However, Darmawan continued, in carrying out this task, PLN still needs to ensure a balance between expected growth and environmental sustainability. According to Darmawan, the meeting with BP Danantara was an opportunity to better understand the new government's grand mission. "Earlier, we shared, got to know each other deeper, and also understood what President Prabowo Subianto's grand mission is. We gained better understanding from the head, deputy head, and the team," he said.
Darmawan said this grand mission consolidates all of the country's potential resources, including natural and human resources. The aim is to create synergy in achieving the success of the government's programs. "We are very happy with this sense of togetherness. We are ready to follow the guidelines so that there is an alignment, aligning the steps of Danantara with PT PLN," said Darmawan.
President Prabowo established BP Danantara to be a superholding that combines seven giant state-owned enterprises in asset management. Besides PLN, two other companies that have met with BP Danantara are PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
However, the Head of BP Danantara, Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, is still reluctant to provide further details about the consolidation scheme that will be carried out with these state-owned companies, including with PT PLN. "Later, there will be a time," he said on Wednesday.
