TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Public Relations Section of the Metro Depok Police, Police Adjunct Commissionaire Made Budi, stated that the police are still investigating the perpetrator of the bomb threat to ten schools in Depok, Indonesia.
Made explained that they received information that an individual sent a bomb threat to ten schools in Depok via email. The sender claimed to be Kamila Lutfiani Hamdi and used the email [email protected].
"After receiving the information, we checked and investigated the terror threat, and it has been examined by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Jibom) team and the Gegana team from Kelapa Dua (Brimob)," Made said at the Metro Depok Police Headquarters on Tuesday night, December 23, 2025.
Through the email, the perpetrator expressed dissatisfaction with the quality or service provided by the schools and the police. "Therefore, we continue to conduct investigations to determine whether the person who conveyed the threat is indeed the perpetrator or if someone else is using the account," Made stated.
Made revealed that the police have checked the address of the perpetrator mentioned in the email, but he did not comment further on the results.
The police stated that they will delve into the complaints conveyed by the perpetrator through the threatening letter. The police did not provide a clear answer regarding the perpetrator who is suspected to be a rape victim disappointed because her report to the police was not addressed. "We are conducting an investigation," he said.
Observing the writing style in the bomb threat email, the police suspect that the sender may be suffering from depression, as the words were not well-structured. "Whether the female perpetrator spread it or if her account was hacked by certain individuals, remains to be seen," Made expressed.
Out of the ten schools that received bomb threats, the Brimob Gegana team has checked six schools and found no suspicious or bomb-like items. "The process is ongoing for the remaining four schools, but for the initial six schools that were checked, no (bombs or suspicious items) were found," Made stated.
