TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received an official visit from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Lima, Peru, on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to strengthen diplomatic ties and cooperation in various strategic areas.
During the meeting, Albanese commended Prabowo's proactive approach to global diplomacy, particularly his inaugural visits to China and the United States. He expressed his aspiration to deepen the Indonesia-Australia partnership, focusing on key areas such as agriculture, education, and healthcare.
“I want to see more and more cooperation between our two great nations. I look forward to the relationship being even stronger in the future,” said PM Albanese.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo emphasized the strong friendship between Indonesia and Australia. He reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, including encouraging Australian investment in the Indonesian economy.
“Australia is a good friend of Indonesia. We aim to further strengthen cooperation in various fields, including Australia's participation in Indonesia's economy,” he stated.
Prabowo further expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation between the two countries and invited Australia to cultivate good relations and cooperation with other countries.
