TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pair of candidate governors and deputy governors number 3, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, declared their victory in the Jakarta Regional Election 2024. Pramono stated that he has seen the real count results and the latest Form C calculation that won pair number 3.
"Alhamdulillah (Praise to God) with gratitude and thankfulness, we can declare that pair number 3 has won the Jakarta gubernatorial election contest in one round," said Pramono during a press conference in South Cipete, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 28, 2024.
The former Cabinet Secretary said that they have obtained more than 50 percent, 2,943 votes in the Jakarta Regional Election. He considered this as a victory in one round, referring to the Special Capital Region of Jakarta Law Article 10 Paragraph 2.
Article 10 Paragraph 2 stipulates that the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor who obtain more than 50 percent of the votes shall be declared as the elected governor and deputy governor. If no candidate pair obtains more than 50 percent of the votes, a second round of governor election will be held with the top two candidate pairs with the most votes participating.
However, Pramono is still waiting for the official announcement of the manual recapitulation results from the General Election Commission or KPU as the organizer. He also advised the election organizers to be transparent and open in managing the votes that go to pair number 3.
Referring to the real count results announced by Pramono during the press conference, it was stated that pair number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono received 1,718,408 votes or 39.40 percent. Pair number 2 Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana received 459,283 votes or 10.53 percent. Pair number 3 Pramono-Rano Karno received 2,183,577 votes or 50.07 percent.
Recapitulation Still Ongoing
KPU Commissioner August Mellaz stated that the vote recapitulation process in the election is still ongoing. The recapitulation starts from the sub-district level. "We will update the developments along with the ongoing stages in the regions," said August to the media on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
August explained that the recapitulation is based on the calculation results from each polling station, which will then be submitted to the sub-district election committee for recapitulation. After the sub-district level, the process will continue at the district or city level from November 29 to December 6, 2024.
This stage, according to August, includes the determination of the election results at the district city level. Then the provincial level will be held from November 30 to December 9, 2024. Subsequently, the KPU will announce the vote counting results for the district and city level elections participated by the regents and mayors from November 29 to December 12, 2024. The declaration of the governor election recapitulation results will be announced from November 30 to December 15, 2024.
