New Year’s Day | Jan 1 | Thursday

New Year’s Day in Singapore is filled with a blast of celebratory spirit. During this time, you can take part in seasonal events like those at the Singapore Oceanarium or go shopping along Orchard Road while enjoying the pleasant weather.

Since Singapore is a top short-trip destination for Southeast Asians, a short staycation is also a great choice.

Chinese New Year | Feb 17, 18 | Tuesday, Wednesday

As Chinese make up about 75% of Singapore’s population, Chinese New Year is celebrated in a lively manner. With many festive events and holiday-themed activities, cultural traditions can be seen everywhere.

Some of the most famous landmarks to celebrate Chinese New Year in Singapore include River Hongbao, Jewel Changi Airport, and Chinatown.

Hari Raya Puasa | March 21 | Saturday

After fasting for a whole month of Ramadhan, Muslims celebrate its end with Hari Raya Puasa. Although subject to confirmation, the day is often marked by lively traditions and celebrations. Common activities include short local trips, enjoying festive food, and visiting relatives.

Good Friday | April 3 | Friday (long weekend)

Good Friday marks the first long weekend of the year. With pleasant weather, a short getaway to places like Universal Studios Singapore or a spa retreat is a great way to enjoy the three-day break.

Labour Day | May 1 | Friday (long weekend)

Similar to Good Friday, Labour Day brings another long weekend to the calendar. If you’re in the mood for something light, hopping between must-visit eateries in Singapore is a great option, such as Magpie, Bon Broth, and JAAN.

Hari Raya Haji | May 27 | Wednesday

Another holiday that celebrates the values of faith and community is Hari Raya Haji. On this day, people often spend time at family gatherings, making short trips to nearby destinations like Bali a great option.

Vesak Day | May 31 | Sunday (long weekend) — Monday, June 1 will be a public holiday

Shortly after Hari Raya Haji, Singaporeans can look forward to the third long weekend of the year, which is marked by the celebration of Vesak Day.

Many people visit Buddhist temples to take part in candlelight processions and prayers. Some of the times, charity events are also organised across Singapore.

National Day | August 9 | Sunday (long weekend) — Monday, Aug 10 will be a public holiday

In the early days of August, Singaporeans will observe another long weekend thanks to National Day. Expect an abundance of things to do and see across the island, from The National Day Parade and fireworks to community celebrations and fun-filled activities.

Deepavali | Nov 8 | Sunday (long weekend) — Monday, Nov 9 will be a public holiday

Deepavali will turn Little India into a more vibrant cultural hub, adorned with decorations and markets.

Christmas Day | Dec 25 | Friday (long weekend)

Toward the final days of 2026, the city-state prepares for its last holiday: Christmas. Whether you’re taking in Orchard Road’s iconic decorations, experiencing Gardens by the Bay’s festive offerings, or indulging in a Christmasa feast, there's always something to enjoy at Christmas in Singapore.
