TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Taman Safari Indonesia announces the birth of several new animals across its various locations. At Jakarta Aquarium & Safari (JAQS), two Humboldt penguin chicks (Spheniscus humboldti), named Flip and Flop, have hatched. These rare penguins, native to the Pacific coast of Peru and Chile, are now part of a group of eight at JAQS.
“These male penguin babies were named Flip and Flop through a public contest involving hundreds of participants on Instagram,” said Alexander Zulkarnain, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Taman Safari Indonesia Group on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Meanwhile, at Solo Safari, a baby agile gibbon or Javan gibbon (Hylobates agilis) named Ron has been born to parents Galih and Shinta. The three-month-old gibbon joins a group of six Javan gibbons at the park.
