Veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is set to return to the NFL and sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 32-year-old, a first-round draft pick back in 2014, spent last season working as a high school coach at Miami Northwestern.
But, according to reports, Bridgewater is returning to the NFL and will visit the Bucs on Tuesday. It comes just days after Baker Mayfield suffered a worrying injury scare in practice.
The starter sustained a contusion on his throwing hand on Thursday, while Mayfield's backup Michael Pratt has been dealing with a back problem.
Bridgewater won a coach of the year award during his one season at Miami Northwestern after leading the Bulls - his former school - to a state championship.
But, as reported by the Palm Beach Post, the quarterback was recently suspended for allegedly giving 'impermissible benefits' to his players last season.
It emerged earlier this week that the 32-year-old was plotting a return to the NFL and then on Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Times revealed that he was meeting with the Bucs.
