TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Bimo Wijayanto, revealed that 5,738,465 taxpayers have activated their Coretax accounts.
"Indeed, the majority are individuals, totaling 4,897,215, while corporate taxpayers amount to 755,021, government institutions 86,009, and about 220 e-commerce," he said when met at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes in Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
This number is significantly lower compared to the taxpayer population in 2024, which amounted to 14,782,954, and had already reported their annual income tax return. This figure consists of 13,657,808 individuals and 1,125,146 corporations.
Furthermore, the newly registered taxpayers on Coretax in 2025 are 1,307,555, comprising 1,193,437 individuals, 109,983 corporations, 4,108 government institutions, and 27 e-commerce.
The percentage of those who have activated their registration with an authorization code or electronic certificate on the new Coretax account is 1,700,142 or 12.45 percent. However, there are still 11,957,666 taxpayers who have not completed their registration, accounting for 87.55 percent.
"It's not an easy feat, but we are striving to provide the best service and create registration channels in each of our offices throughout Indonesia," Bimo stated.
Coretax, he said, provides convenience for taxpayers as the platform integrates several tax services that were previously separate. Despite this, Bimo mentioned some taxpayers are more comfortable with filling out paper forms with direct signatures. They believe this to be evidence of having fulfilled their tax obligations
Therefore, he asked his staff to facilitate training for taxpayers and carry out extensive socialization at the tax offices across the country.
