TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State toll road operator, PT Jasa Marga, operates three toll road sections functionally for free during the Christmas and New Year holidays. First, the Solo-Jogja toll road of Klaten-Prambanan segment along 8.5 kilometers.
"For the Jogja-Solo Toll Road, which already has tolls, it is 22.3 kilometers long. The functional one goes up to the Klaten segment," said President Director of Jasa Marga Subakti Syukur in the Christmas and New Year preparation press conference at the Ministry of State Enterprises, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
The next toll road to be functionally operated is the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road of the Gending-Krasakan segment along 10.3 kilometers. Then, the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) of II South section Kutanegara-Sadang along 8.5 kilometers.
Subakti said the three toll sections were functionally operated to anticipate traffic density. In addition, as a trial preparation ahead of the homecoming flow for Eid al-Fitr next year.
Furthermore, Subakti said the projected number of vehicles leaving Jakarta through the main toll gates (GT) of Cikampek, Kalihurip, Ciawi, and Cikupa during the Christmas and New Year period or from December 18, 2024, to January 4, 2025, reached 3.06 million. Meanwhile, the estimated number of vehicles returning to or entering Jakarta is about 3 million.
Subakti said Jasa Marga had coordinated with stakeholders to prepare traffic engineering. In addition, there is already a joint decree issued by the National Traffic Corps, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Public Works on road traffic regulation and intersections during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 traffic.
"Contraflow [will be implemented], especially on the Japek Toll Road and the Jagorawi Toll Road," Subakti said. "And if necessary, there will be one-way traffic based on police discretion."
