3. Iranian Ambassador Calls Israel a 'Malignant Tumor' in Middle East

The Iranian government does not consider a ceasefire the main solution to the Middle East conflict. Instead, it calls for the region to be free from foreign intervention, particularly from the United States and Israel.

"I believe the way forward is for the Middle East to be entrusted to the countries of the region. Middle Eastern nations have proven capable of managing their own interests and maintaining regional security," said Iran's Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, in an interview with Tempo at his residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Boroujerdi identified major powers, especially the United States, as the root cause of persistent conflicts in the region. "On a broader scale, the main issue in our region is the intervention of international powers," he said.
