PKK programs are vital in supporting national development efforts.

NATIONAL INFO The Chairperson of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement (TP PKK), Tri Tito Karnavian, emphasized the need for the optimal and efficient use of budgets allocated for PKK and Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) programs. He called for a focus on funding programs that directly benefit the community rather than administrative expenses alone.

“I want the focus to be on impactful programs. To achieve this, I urge all working groups (Pokja) to design their respective initiatives, ensuring the efficient allocation of our budget,” he stated during the closing session of the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) held in preparation for the 10th National Work Meeting (Rakernas X) of TP PKK in 2025 at Balai Sudirman, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Tri highlighted the importance of collaboration with both government and private sectors to sustain PKK programs. Such partnerships, he explained, are essential for accessing additional resources beyond the often-limited government funding.

He further encouraged leveraging alternative funding sources, such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and contributions from the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas). However, the beneficiaries of these funds must be clearly identified and credible. "These organizations are very supportive when we can demonstrate that our programs are impactful for the community and provide mutual benefits," he said.

Tri underscored that the success of PKK programs relies not only on adequate funding but also on effective organizational skills. These include building strong networks and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders, which are crucial for gaining support and driving impactful community initiatives.

The TP PKK Chairperson reiterated that PKK programs are a critical element in supporting national development and contribute to Indonesia’s aspirations of becoming a prosperous and advanced nation. She emphasized that these programs must align with the priorities outlined in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025–2029.

“This is about laying the foundation for not just ten or twenty years but for hundreds of years into the future, where Indonesia stands as a strong and advanced nation in line with our development goals,” Tri remarked.(*)
