TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The price of gold bars from PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) hit Rp2,561,000 per gram in today's trading, December 23, 2025. According to the official Logam Mulia website, the commodity surged by Rp59,000 from the previous day's close of Rp2,502,000 per gram.
Meanwhile, Antam’s buyback price is currently pegged at Rp2,420,000 per gram. Investors should note that any buyback transaction exceeding Rp10,000,000 is subject to Income Tax (PPh) under Article 22.
Currency observer Ibrahim Assuaibi predicts that precious metal prices could climb toward the Rp2,600,000 per gram mark this week, trailing a potential rally in global gold markets. However, he cautioned that if global prices undergo a correction, domestic bullion could potentially retreat to the Rp2,400,000 level.
According to Ibrahim, the world gold price might pass US$4,415 per troy ounce this week. This would break the October record of US$4,381. "If the world gold price strengthens, the first resistance is at US$ 4,378," Ibrahim said in a statement on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The Director of PT Traze Andalan Futures assessed that one of the primary drivers behind these price fluctuations is the anticipation surrounding the U.S. Federal Reserve’s benchmark interest rate policy for next year. He pointed out that economists remain cautious regarding rate cut discussions, warning that the 43-day U.S. government shutdown could potentially distort critical economic data.
Beyond monetary policy, Ibrahim highlighted escalating geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran as a catalyst. Reports suggest Israel is planning a new military offensive against Iran, potentially slated for 2026. "This volatility is likely to drive global gold prices toward the US$4,415 threshold," Ibrahim explained.
