TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts light rain showers in a few areas of Jakarta's satellite city this afternoon, Friday, November 28, 2025. The Jakarta area itself will tend to be cloudy throughout the day.
According to the latest 24-hour weather forecast from BMKG, Jakarta and the surrounding Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) area are expected to be cloudy on Friday morning, with thick clouds in some areas. These cloudy conditions are expected to persist from morning until midday.
Light rain is likely to begin in the city of Tangerang and the district of South Tangerang, as well as in the entire areas of Bekasi and Bogor, in the afternoon and continue until 7 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time). The air humidity levels in Jabodetabek today range from 65 to 80 percent. The air temperature in Bogor will not exceed 18-32 degrees Celsius, while the average temperature in other regions of Jabodetabek is 24-32 degrees Celsius.
The surface winds in Jakarta and the surrounding area are currently blowing from the southwest at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometers per hour. These wind conditions are not affected by the two tropical cyclones currently moving across Indonesia.
As of yesterday at 7 AM WIB, BMKG had issued an official statement regarding the latest developments of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Senyar, the post-tropical phase of Tropical Cyclone Senyar. The storm had weakened since the previous day and was observed around the eastern part of the Aceh mainland.
Ex-Cyclone Senyar has now reached a maximum speed of 30 knots (56 kilometers per hour), with a minimum pressure of 1,001 hPa. The maximum wind speed of this storm is predicted to decrease further today, making it a tropical depression or low. It will then move eastward, away from the Indonesian region.
Although its maximum wind speed has weakened, the remnants of Cyclone Senyar are still expected to trigger very heavy to extreme rain in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. There is also the effect of high waves in the western Indian Ocean from Aceh to the Nias Islands.
