TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The former Director of Senior High School Development (SMA) at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of Indonesia, Purwadi Sutanto, was one of the witnesses presented at the corruption trial for the procurement of Chromebook laptops on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Corruption Court in Central Jakarta. The defendants in this trial were Ibrahim Arief, a former Technology Consultant at the Ministry; Mulyatsyah, the Director of Junior High Schools at the Ministry for the 2020-2021 period; and Sri Wahyuningsih, the Director of Junior High Schools at the Ministry for the 2020-2021 period.
In his testimony, Purwadi admitted to receiving US$7,000 after no longer being involved in the planning of Chromebook procurement. He confirmed the amount when questioned by the prosecutor. "The money that you, the witness, returned or handed over to the investigator, how much was it? US$7,000?" the prosecutor asked.
Purwadi confirmed that he indeed received that amount. "That's right," he said.
The prosecutor then asked from whom Purwadi received the money. He explained that the money was given by the School Commitment Officer (PPK) of the high school named Dhany Hamiddan Khoir.
The prosecutor then asked what Dhany said when handing over the money. Purwadi admitted that he did not directly receive the money from Dhany, but it was placed on his desk. The money was given to him after he had stopped serving as the high school director. "At that time, I didn't meet him, it was just placed on the table, there was no directive. Because I no longer held the position, I just kept the money," Purwadi said.
Purwadi mentioned that he rarely interacted with Dhany after no longer serving as the High School Director. After learning about the issue, he returned the money to the state through the investigator. "I rarely interacted with Mr. Dhany, so I just kept it, until the issue arose and I returned it," he said.
The procurement of Chromebook and Chrome Device Management for the 2020-2022 Fiscal Year was said to enrich several parties, namely:
1. Nadiem Anwar Makarim with an amount of Rp809,596,125,000;
2. Mulyatsyah, Director of Middle School of Kemendikbudristek for the 2020-2021 period, with Sin$120,000 and US$150,000;
3. Harnowo Susanto, the School Commitment Officer for middle school level (PPK SMP), with an amount of Rp300 million;
4. PPK SMA, Dhany Hamiddan Khoir, with an amount of Rp200 million and US$30,000;
5. High School Budget User, Purwadi Sutanto, with US$7,000;
6. High School Budget User, Suhartono Arham, with US$7,000;
7. PPK SD, Wahyu Haryadi, with an amount of Rp35 million;
8. PPK PAUD, Nia Nurhasanah, with an amount of Rp500 million;
9. Acting Director General of PAUD Dasmen, Hamid Muhammad, with an amount of Rp75 million;
10. Jumeri with an amount of Rp100 million;
11. School Commitment Officer, Susanto, with an amount of Rp50 million;
12. PAUD Budget User, Muhammad Hasbi, with an amount of Rp250 million;
13. Mariana Susy as a partner of PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi in the installation of Chrome Device Management with an amount of Rp5.15 billion;
14. PT Supertone (SPC) with an amount of Rp44.96 billion;
15. PT Asus Technology Indonesia (ASUS) with an amount of Rp819.25 million;
16. PT Tera Data Indonesia (AXIOO) with an amount of Rp177.41 billion;
17. PT Lenovo Indonesia (Lenovo) with an amount of Rp19.18 billion;
18. PT Zyrexindo Mandiri Buana (Zyrex) with an amount of Rp41.17 billion;
19. PT Hewlett-Packard Indonesia (HP) with an amount of Rp2.26 billion;
20. PT Gyra Inti Jaya (Libera) with an amount of Rp101.51 billion;
21. PT Evercoss Technology Indonesia (Evercross) with an amount of Rp341.06 million;
22. PT Dell Indonesia (Dell) with an amount of Rp112.68 billion;
23. PT Bangga Teknologi Indonesia (Advan) with an amount of Rp48.82 billion;
24. PT Acer Indonesia (Acer) with an amount of Rp425.24 billion;
25. PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi with an amount of Rp281.67 billion.
