TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Director General of Immigration Saffar Muhammad Godam said that 46,735,310 people have crossed within Indonesian territory this year, from January 1 to December 15. This number constitutes a 12 percent increase from the previous year with 41,666,999 people.
"They crossed through air, sea, and land," he said during a press conference on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
From that number, 22,181,080 people were Indonesian citizens, while 24,553,502 were foreign nationals. Saffar detailed that air travel crossings involved 36,753,657 people, 8,237,837 by sea, and 1,743,816 by land.
Meanwhile, among the foreign nationals entering Indonesia, Australia ranks first with 1,638,687 arrivals. China follows in second with 1,514,633 people, Malaysia with 1,443,484 people, Singapore around 1.2 million people, and India with 484,072 people.
Furthermore, Saffar mentioned that his institution has also issued 9,325,307 Visit Stay Permits (ITK) this year, increasing by 31 times compared to 2023 with 295,960. Meanwhile, immigration issued 259,944 limited stay permits (ITAS) and 6,437 permanent stay permits (ITAP).
From that number, Australia also holds the top position in Visa and Stay Permits users with 1.5 million, followed by China with 1.2 million and Malaysia with 819 thousand.
Saffar stated that by December 15, the immigration had also recorded non-tax state revenue of Rp8.58 trillion, exceeding the 2024 target by 142 percent.
"This is the highest in history," said Saffar.
On the same occasion, Saffar also conveyed updates on the Golden Visa program. Saffar said the Directorate General of Immigration recorded 471 Golden Visas issued as of December 10, with an investment value of Rp9 trillion in total.
The Golden Visa was first launched on July 25th, 2024. At the start of its launch, there were already 300 applicants for the golden visa, with a total investment value reaching Rp 2 trillion.
This golden visa will provide several privileges for visa holders, such as longer stays, priority lanes for the immigration services at international airports, and the elimination of the limited stay permit (ITAS) requirement.
