TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national football team dropped to 130th in the FIFA Ranking after failing to win their Group C match in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian Zone in October.
The Garuda team, previously ranked 129th, dropped one place after losing the FIFA Qualifying Matchday by -5.30 points.
This is due to the results of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where Indonesia drew 2-2 with Bahrain and lost 2-1 to China.
Shin Tae-yong's team now occupies 130th place with a total of 1118.87 points. Indonesia's points tally also puts them in 23rd place in the Asian Zone.
Meanwhile, Indonesia is third in the ASEAN Zone, behind Thailand and Vietnam, who are 96th and 119th in the FIFA Ranking respectively.
The Garuda team still have a good chance to gain points and improve their ranking this year when they play in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November.
In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian Zone in November, Jay Idzes and his teammates will face Japan and Saudi Arabia on November 15 and 19 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
Currently, 2022 World Cup winners Argentina remain at the top of the FIFA Ranking with a total of 1883.5 points. France are in second place with 1,859.85 points, followed by Euro 2024 winners Spain in third with 1,844.33 points.
