TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro denied the dismissal of a state civil servant (ASN) in his ministry.
He said that what was done was to carry out mutations and rotations. This is something that is common in agencies or ministries.
"To clarify, and I have also conveyed it to the person concerned, the ministry has never fired anyone. What happened was that the ministry carried out mutations or rotations, something that is indeed common for an institution, government or non-government agency," said Satryo as quoted by Antara on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Satryo also denied the issue circulating on social media about him slapping his subordinate. He said that the recording circulating on social media was not him.
"That's not my voice," he said.
Satryo said that the recording circulating on social media, in which he allegedly protested the wi-fi network to his employees, was not true.
Satryo also responded to the decision of the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Science and Technology Togar M. Simatupang who stated that there are other ways besides protesting, for example through discussions and persuasive efforts.
"Yes, that was our effort to create a common experience between us and them. In the future, each of us will communicate, after all, we are in the same office, we can meet and joke at any time, each of us also has a superior and can discuss about it," he said.
Previously, hundreds of ASN employees from the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology held a peaceful protest at their office on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The participants in the peaceful protest shouted slogans and unfurled banners and a number of flower arrangements that were denied entry by Yoki.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Technology, Khairul Munadi, in a dialogue forum between the Leadership of the Ministry of Education and Technology and the Association of Dikti Employees at the Ministry of Education and Technology office, Jakarta, Monday (20/1) said that the Ministry of Education and Technology is always open to various inputs and aspirations.
"The ministry is very open to various inputs and aspirations, especially from the public and internally," said Khairul.
