TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has deployed teams to closely monitor all areas still affected by flooding following heavy rainfall on Tuesday night, January 28, 2025. The BPBD is actively coordinating with the Water Resources Agency, the Bina Marga Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) to expedite water drainage efforts and ensure the proper functioning of drainage channels.

“The goal is to quickly recede the floodwaters,” stated the official BPBD broadcast on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

According to the official broadcast, as of 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, flooding has impacted 54 RTs (neighborhood units) and 23 roads across the city. The heavy rainfall that lashed Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, led to an escalation of flood warnings in several locations.

These include the Katulampa Dam, which reached Alert 3 (alert) at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday; the Depok Monitoring Post, which reached Alert 3 (alert) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday; the Pesanggrahan Monitoring Post, which reached Alert 3 (alert) at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday; the Sunter Hulu Monitoring Post, which reached Alert 3 (alert) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and subsequently lowered to Alert 2 (alert) at 6:00 p.m.

These elevated water levels contributed to flooding in various parts of Jakarta.
