TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police will deploy 2,500 joint personnel to secure the Group C World Cup qualifying matches 2026 in the Asian Zone at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Friday night, November 15, 2024. In this event, the Indonesian national team will host the Japanese team.
The head of the Jakarta Metro Police's public relations department, Commissioner General Ade Ary Syam, said security personnel would be tasked with maintaining order around the stadium. He urged fans not to bring prohibited items into the stadium, such as firecrackers, flares, sharp weapons, and alcoholic beverages. "We hope that the fans will remain polite and that there will be no anarchy or damage to public facilities," he said, Thursday, November 14, 2024.
As for traffic diversions, according to Ade Ary, it will be done situationally around the Senayan area to anticipate traffic congestion. However, the public is advised to avoid the GBK area during the match.
The joint personnel deployed to secure the match are from the Jakarta Metro Police, Central Jakarta Police, TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and the Jakarta Provincial Government.
"They will be stationed at various points around the GBK area, from the entrance gates, to the match venues, to the surrounding Senayan area," said Ade.
