TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned several witnesses in a bribery and obstruction of investigation case involving PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. The witnesses examined were acting Director General of Immigration Saffar Godam, former General Election Commission Arief Budiman chairman, and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) cadre Saeful Bahri. "The witnesses have arrived at the KPK building," said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Saffar Godam came to the KPK Red and White Building at around 09.50 WIB wearing a white safari. Two well-built men accompanied him. They were followed by Saeful Bahri, who arrived a few minutes later. This was followed by Arief Budiman, who wore a blue batik shirt.
Saffar Godam told reporters that he would provide information about the records held by the immigration office regarding the crossing of Harun Masiku. "Called as a witness, 5 years ago at the time of the Harun Masiku crossing," said Saffar. He emphasized that the examination did not mention the alleged bribery involving Hasto Kristiyanto.
KPK named Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in bribery and obstruction of investigation in the Harun Masiku case. Hasto allegedly ordered his close person, Donny Tri Istiqomah, to bribe a member of the General Elections Commission for the 2017-2022 period, Wahyu Setiawan.
The bribe was given so that the KPU inaugurated a legislator candidate from PDI-P, Harun Masiku, as a member of the House of Representatives. Hasto was suspected of supporting Harun in replacing Riezky Aprilia, who qualified for Senayan. Riezky, at that time, had the opportunity to replace the PDI-P candidate from the South Sumatra I electoral district, Nazarudin Kiemas, who died before being inaugurated.
"HK (Hasto Kristiyanto) arranged and controlled Donny to actively take and deliver bribe money to be handed over to Wahyu Setiawan through Tio (Agustiani Tio Fridelina Sitorus)," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto at his office, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
