Palace Clarifies 'Lapor Mas Wapres' Not VP Gibran's Initiative

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief Expert of the Presidential Communication Office, Prita Laura, has clarified that the "Lapor Mas Wapres" public complaint service program is not a personal program of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, but rather a part of broader programs of the Prabowo Subianto administration.

“This is not Mas VP's personal program, but a government program. This means it has been approved by the President and all government institutions and ministries are involved,” Prita told media at the Vice President's Palace complex on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Prita mentioned that the complaint desk program is integrated with the National Public Service Complaints Management System (SP4N Lapor), an online platform for citizens to submit aspirations and complaints. This platform is connected to 96 institutions and 453 local governments.

“This is not just a reporting channel, but rather a way to optimize the reception of public reports,” she said.

The "Lapor Mas Wapres" center opened on Monday, November 10, 2024, and operates from Monday to Friday. Vice President Gibran also opened a WhatsApp hotline at 081117042207 for public complaints.

Since the center's opening, citizens from outside the Jakarta metropolitan area have visited the Vice President's Palace to submit complaints directly. However, due to capacity constraints, only a limited number of complaints can be addressed in person, with a daily quota of 50 to 60 individuals.

In a press conference on Thursday, Prita revealed that the center had received a total of 296 reports by the fourth day of operation. These reports covered various issues, including education, health, and land disputes.

Deputy Administration of the Vice President's Secretariat, Sapto Harjono, emphasized that the Vice President's Secretariat is open to receiving complaints from citizens through the "Lapor Mas Wapres" program. The Palace will analyze the submitted complaints and consult with relevant ministries and local governments to develop recommendations for resolving public issues.

“The standard processing time for public complaints is 14 working days, but the actual resolution time may vary depending on the complexity of the issue,” Sapto explained on Monday, November 10, 2024.
