TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto gave a stern warning to cabinet members during a retreat in Hambalang, Bogor, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He delivered this message during a closed session and an evaluation meeting of the Red and White Cabinet.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi shared this information during the retreat. "[The President gave] a warning in the sense of boosting spirit," Prasetyo told journalists during a break on Tuesday night.

He explained that the warning came because the President wants his cabinet members to work much faster. However, Prasetyo did not reveal which specific ministers received the reprimand.

Prasetyo did mention the specific sectors that Prabowo highlighted. "Especially in several areas related to job creation and labor-intensive sectors," he said.

He shared examples of the programs Prabowo wants to see move faster. "For example, he asked for acceleration in the construction of fishing villages and the program to build fishing boats," Prasetyo said.

Prabowo wants these programs finished as soon as possible. Prasetyo stated that building fishing villages and boats creates many jobs. It also has the potential to boost Indonesia’s protein production.

These efforts are part of Prabowo's mission to increase the supply of protein-rich foods. "So that we can increase protein intake for the entire population," Prasetyo noted.

The meeting in Hambalang began around 2:00 p.m. local time. It was still going late into the evening. Around 6:00 p.m., the group took a short break. At that time, Prasetyo mentioned that only four ministers had finished their performance presentations.

Prasetyo said that not every official would give presentations today. About four or five more leaders were scheduled to speak before the retreat ended.

The retreat was well-attended by coordinating ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of agencies. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also participated in the meeting. He sat beside Prabowo throughout the session.

Before the closed evaluation began, Prabowo gave an open briefing. He discussed the achievements and challenges of his programs. He focused on the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project and rice self-sufficiency.

Prabowo started by outlining the agenda for the day. He said the first task was to evaluate the previous year's performance. "Next, we understand the condition of our nation amid the dynamics and turbulence of the world, and then we look forward to this year, what steps we need to take," said Prabowo.

The President acknowledged that Indonesia faces many trials. These include recent natural disasters in Sumatra and Java. He asked his cabinet members to stay strong and face these challenges directly.

Prabowo ended the session by thanking his team. He praised the cabinet for their hard work over the past year. "As the president, as a leader, as the recipient of a mandate from the Indonesian people — I can be called a captain — I want to express my gratitude to my assistants," he said.
