TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta gubernatorial candidate number 3, Pramono Anung, plans to combine the flood mitigation programs of former Jakarta governors Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok. He believes that these policies can be refined and enhanced over the next five years.
Pramono stated that he is not opposed to the policies of past governors. As long as they benefit the people, he is committed to developing them further if elected as the governor in the upcoming election.
Anies' flood mitigation strategy involved constructing infiltration wells, while Ahok's program established an orange force, or Public Facility and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) team. “By combining these two approaches, we can effectively tackle flooding in Jakarta,” Pramono explained during a visit to Cipete, South Jakarta, on Monday, November 18, 2024.
The former Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the orange force can be optimized for cleaning water channels across Jakarta, while infiltration wells can reduce surface water runoff and mitigate flooding.
The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician also highlighted his other key programs, including the Smart Jakarta Card, Healthy Jakarta Card, and Elderly Jakarta Card.
“I'll solve the fundamental issues faced by Jakarta residents,” he declared.
In the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election, Pramono is paired with Rano Karno supported by the PDIP. They will compete against pair number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, backed by the Indonesia Advanced Coalition, and pair number 2, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, running as independent candidates.
