TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rockstar Games has once again postponed the release schedule of the action simulation game Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) to the end of next year. Through an announcement on the official website, the management admitted that they need several additional months to finalize this latest series, at least until November 2026.
"So that we can complete this game with the level of polish and final quality that you deserve," according to the official statement from Rockstar Games.
The New York-based game developer in the United States is asking GTA fans to be patient. Instead, the company claims to bring an exciting adventure. "We are very excited to welcome players who want to explore the vast state called Leonida, and to return to the modern version of Vice City," reads Rockstar's promotional statement.
The release of GTA VI was initially scheduled for May 26, 2026. This date was already far postponed from the previous promise, which was in September 2025. Not much different from the latest reason, Rockstar Games stated that the delay was to meet the high expectations of the fans.
Awaited by many fans, GTA VI is expected to bring many significant changes compared to its predecessor. Rockstar management is restructuring the main female character, adding AI features, and creating a more sophisticated open world scheme.
In November 2024, there was speculation in the virtual world about the use of the rockstar advanced game engine or Rage, the game support engine made by Rockstar, for products on consoles and PC. At that time, there were hints about the development of ray tracing at Rockstar.
The 3D rendering technique produces game images with a high level of realism. Usually, ray tracing is often used to add a realistic impression to games, for example, to create trees, grass, and small objects. The process is very time-consuming. The Rage engine also accommodates procedural generation for the development of game objects and environments.
