TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Court has rejected Jessica Kumala Wongso's second appeal for a judicial review, as she maintains her innocence in the accusation of murdering Wayan Mirna Salihin. Her first judicial review in 2018 was also denied.

"The verdict is rejected," as stated in the case explanation number 78 PK/PID/2025, quoted from the Supreme Court's website.

The appellate court judges ruled on the case on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The chief judge was Dwiarso Budi Santiarto, joined by Yanto and Achmad Setyo Pudjoharsoyo.

"The case has been decided and is currently in the process of being transcribed by the council," stated the case status on the Supreme Court's website.

Jessica Wongso's lawyer, Hidayat Bostam, was unaware that his client's appeal had been rejected. "I have not received any official news," he said when contacted by Tempo on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Hidayat mentioned that he will visit the Central Jakarta District Court next week to obtain Jessica's judicial review verdict documents.

In 2024, Jessica Wongso filed a judicial review as her last legal attempt in the cyanide coffee case. Despite being conditionally released in August 2024, she proceeded with the review, steadfast in her belief of being innocent of the murder accusation of Wayan Mirna Salihin.

Previously, Jessica's former legal representative, Otto Hasibuan, claimed to have found new evidence, namely CCTV footage from Kafe Olivier, the location of Mirna's murder. He also asserted that there were errors in the previous judge's ruling that prompted the filing of the second appeal.
