1. Why Trump Wants to Push Venezuela's Maduro Out of Power

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The airstrikes on Caracas on January 3 have renewed speculation that the United States is seeking to remove Venezuela's president, Nicolas Maduro, by force.

In fact, an interview published in Vanity Fair in late December had already indicated that this was currently one of U.S. President Donald Trump's main priorities.

The interview made headlines at the time, as  Trump's chief of staff Susie Wiles said her boss "wants to keep on blowing boats up until Maduro cries uncle" — an Americanism referring to a plea for mercy.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South America is the fourth largest continent in the world with a population of over 420 million. This continent covers about one-eighth of the Earth's total land surface and is approximately twice the size of the United States.

Consisting of 14 different countries, South America is home to a plethora of nationalities, languages, cultures, and religions.

The South American continent is also known for its rich biodiversity, mountains, beaches, and various types of landscapes.
