TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The weather in most areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) has the potential for rain today, Monday, August 18, 2025, coinciding with the public holiday in Indonesia's 80th Independence Day celebration. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) mentioned that the potential rain is mostly light.
In Jakarta, the potential for light rain today is present in all areas of mainland Jakarta, except for North Jakarta. According to BMKG, there will be cloudy weather in North Jakarta throughout the day. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands have the potential for rain accompanied by thunder.
In the surrounding areas of Jakarta, the potential for light rain is present in all areas except for the Regencies and Cities of Bekasi. Light rain is mentioned to be possible in the Regencies and Cities of Bogor, Tangerang, Depok, and South Tangerang.
In general, the weather in the Indonesian region from August 18 to 21, including today and the next three days, will be partly cloudy to rainy. BMKG has issued an early warning of heavy rain for the provinces of West Java, Bali, Central Kalimantan, Central Papua, and the Central Highlands of Papua.
