TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Tempo in collaboration with Transparency International Indonesia (TII) announced PT Bank Central Asia Tbk or Bank BCA as the recipient of the Diamond category appreciation in the assessment of Sustainable Business Integrity Index 2024. The event was held at Salihara Art Center, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

For information, Diamond is the highest integrity index with scores ranging from 85-100. To receive this award, companies must have integrated anti-corruption principles, respect for human rights, ecosystem sustainability, and environmental protection and care into their corporate governance very well or above average.

The Chief Executive Officer of Tempo, Arif Zulkifli, expressed appreciation to the winners of this assessment. He hopes that in the future, more companies will commit to ethical business practices and sustainability.

"Once again, I express my gratitude, and we hope that similar events in the coming years will involve even more companies committed to ethical business practices and sustainability," he added.

Additionally, Arif also appreciated the companies in the Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby assessment categories, who have implemented environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. He views this as evidence that several companies have carried out sustainable business practices based on high integrity.

"Demonstrating the real commitment of companies to a better future," he stated at the event.

Arif hopes that the assessment from this Sustainable Business Index will benefit companies, especially if it can enhance positive reputation and trust from consumers, investors, employees, and other stakeholders.

"This Sustainable Business Index is also expected to help the public understand what integrity and sustainable business practices entail," he further explained.

For information, the Sustainable Business Integrity Index is a measurement tool used to assess the extent to which companies or organizations implement integrity and sustainable business practices. This award is given to appreciate companies' dedication to creating a greener and ethical future.

There are four award recipient categories in the Sustainable Business Integrity Index 2024: Emerald for companies with integrity indexes below 50, which are companies that have begun to integrate anti-corruption principles, respect for human rights, ecosystem sustainability, and environmental protection and care into corporate governance.

Then the Sapphire category with an integrity index of 50-74 for companies that have integrated anti-corruption principles, respect for human rights and ecosystem sustainability, and environmental protection and care into corporate governance quite well. There is also the Ruby category with an integrity index of 75-84 for companies that have integrated anti-corruption principles, respect for human rights and ecosystem sustainability, and environmental protection and care into corporate governance well.

While the highest integrity index category, 85-100, receives the Diamond award for companies that have integrated anti-corruption principles, respect for human rights, and ecosystem sustainability, and environmental protection and care into corporate governance very well or above average.

The selection process for the Sustainable Business Integrity Award has started since June-July 2024 with data collection from 100 companies, scoring, media monitoring, preliminary index, and objection period. In August 2024, there were evaluation team discussions and final index determination as part of this event series.
