TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's digital investment application, Bibit.id or PT Bibit Tumbuh Bersama, made a proud achievement at the end of 2024. Bibit became the only Government Securities Distribution Partner (SBN) in the fintech category to receive an award from the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The awards are the Best Retail Government Securities (SUN) Distribution Partner in 2024 in the Financial Technology Category and Trading Through Electronic Systems Organizer and the Best Retail Government Sharia Securities (SBSN) Distribution Partner in 2024 in the Financial Technology Category.
Both awards were presented directly by the Director General of Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance, Suminto, to Bibit representatives during the Investor Meeting held in Jakarta.
"This award affirms our consistency and commitment in marketing SBN and SBSN to the Indonesian people. Thank you for the appreciation that the Ministry of Finance has given us. Going forward, we will continue to innovate, make various educational efforts, and focus on inviting people to build the country through investment in SBN and SBSN," said Hilmawan Kusumajaya, Director of Bibit, in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Bibit's success in becoming the only Distribution Partner in the fintech category to receive an award from the Ministry of Finance repeats last year's success. At the end of 2023, Bibit also received four prestigious awards from the Ministry of Finance, including the Best Retail SUN Distribution Partner (Midis) in 2022, the Best Retail SBSN Midis in 2022 and 2023 in the Fintech Category and the Best Retail SUN Midis in the Fintech Category and Electronic System Trading Operator in 2023.
Since being officially appointed as a Distribution Partner for SBN sales in early 2022, Bibit has consistently recorded itself as a Midis in the fintech category with the most sales in various SBN and SBSN series, even surpassing sales from bank Midis.
Hilmawan said that the awards received in 2022, 2023, and 2024 are inseparable from the trust given by Bibit's users, who are now dominated not only by millennials and Gen Z but also by investors over 40.
"Most of Bibit's users are millennials and Gen Z. But, it is quite pleasing that we consistently see many investors aged 35-50 who trust Bibit as their main investment platform," he said.
On the other hand, in terms of the number of investors, at the end of 2021, data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) shows that there were around 611 thousand SBN investors. The figure then rose to 831 thousand at the end of 2022, 1 million at the end of 2023, and as of October 2024, the figure reached 1.17 million investors.
"We are very pleased that Bibit's presence as an SBN sales midis has helped increase the number of SBN investors in Indonesia. We hope that by 2025, the number of investors will increase again so that we can strengthen the domestic financial market together," said Hilmawan.
Bibit is an investment app that helps investors invest in various diversified asset classes, such as mutual funds, and government securities that can be purchased in the primary and secondary markets such as Retail Government Bonds (ORI), Retail Savings Bonds (SBR), Savings Sukuk (ST), Retail Sukuk (SR), Fixed Rate (FR), Project Based Sukuk and stocks.
Bibit App is also the leading Robo Advisory platform in Indonesia, licensed and supervised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as a Mutual Fund Selling Agent (APERD), Level II Broker-Dealer Marketing Partner, and appointed by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance as an Official SBN Distribution Partner.
