TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority, Bambang Hadimuljono, announced that civil servants will commence relocation to Nusantara, East Kalimantan, in April 2025.
He claimed that this revised timeline was informed by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB). The initial plan envisioned an early January 2025 relocation, however, this schedule was adjusted due to the proximity of the fasting month of Ramadan.
“According to the Minister of PAN-RB, the relocation preparations and logistics will commence from April. The initial plan was for January, but considering Eid al-Fitr in March, the schedule has been revised,” Basuki explained during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Basuki added that the construction of executive body ecosystem buildings, including palaces and ministry offices, is on track for completion by the end of December 2024. While infrastructure development for these buildings has been finalized, adjustments may be necessary due to revisions in the nomenclature of certain ministry offices.
“The executive ecosystem will be completed by the end of this year. But there are revisions to the number of Coordinating Ministries from four to seven. These will require further deliberation,” he added.
Meanwhile, the construction of the legislative and judiciary building ecosystems is projected to commence in 2025, with a targeted completion timeframe of two years.
Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas previously disclosed that approximately 16,990 civil servants and personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) are slated to relocate to IKN in the initial phase.
Of the nearly 17,000 individuals relocating, approximately 11,274 are civil servants from 40 ministries and government agencies. The remaining 5,716 personnel belong to the TNI/Polri.
