TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party chair Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed the attendance of President Prabowo Subianto at the 60th anniversary commemoration of the political party on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
"According to the schedule, God willing, Prabowo will attend [the event],” said Bahlil to the media crew at the Grand Paragon Hotel, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, December 11.
Bahlil, however, could now confirm the attendance of former President Joko Widodo, who was also invited.
Other than inviting Prabowo, Bahlil also invited Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the vice president as well as other party leaders. "We are inviting all party leaders,” said the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Golkar Party turned 60 years old on Sunday, October 20. In commemoration, the party held a series of events, with the peak on December 12.
The celebration, raising the theme of “Golkar Solid for an Advanced Indonesia,” will be held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC).
Prior to the celebration, Golkar held technical guidance for the Golkar Party Faction in the Indonesian Parliament and Regional Representative Council for the 2024-2029 period. The event was held at the Grand Paragon Hotel on Wednesday, December 11, a day before the anniversary celebration.
During the event, Bahlil said, “Our goal is to assist President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran to boost the welfare of our citizens, our people, and our nation.”
