TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral I Made Wira Hady said that the dismantling of the sea fence on the north coast of Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang, Banten, was ordered by President Prabowo Subianto. He emphasized that there was no intervention from parties other than the president regarding the dismantling of the sea fence.
"We are only carrying out President Prabowo's orders. There is no one else," Made told Tempo around Tanjung Pasir Beach, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
According to Made, his party is open to the public regarding this dismantling. The dismantling of the sea fence carried out today, according to him, was carried out by mutual cooperation with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
Regarding the division of roles, he could not provide information. "There is a division for each. If it continues (the dismantling) we will inform you," he said.
Based on documents received by Tempo, the Indonesian Navy deployed 753 troops in the dismantling of the sea fence today. Other institutions, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) deployed 450 people, Polair 80 people, the Republic of Indonesia Sea and Coast Guard Unit 30 people, the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) 100 people, and the Banten Provincial Government 95 people.
In addition, there are around 1,115 fishermen who will join the agenda of dismantling the sea fence today. These fishermen consist of the Tanjung Pasir Beach Fishermen's Association and several other fishermen's groups in Teluknaga District, Tangerang, Banten.
