TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated as Indonesia’s new president and vice president tomorrow, Sunday, October 20, 2024. To ensure a smooth inaugural process and regulate traffic flow, the Indonesian National Police will clear out the roads taken by VVIP vehicles, especially around the parliament complex.
“Indeed, we will secure the routes through traffic diversion,” said the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo in a written statement on Friday, October 18.
Some of the traffic will be diverted starting at 06:00 a.m. Jakarta time tomorrow. Based on an Instagram upload from @tmcpoldametro, here’s the traffic diversion plan around the parliament complex:
- Traffic flow from the direction of the traffic light (TL) at Lapangan Tembak towards Jl. Gatot Subroto is redirected under barrier 2, or diverted to the Ladokgi Flyover towards Semanggi.
- Traffic flow from the inner-city toll road that will exit at the Pulo Dua offramp is directed towards the Tomang toll road.
- Traffic flow from Jl. Palmerah Timur towards Jl. Gelora or the back entrance of the parliament complex is directed to Jl. Tentara Pelajar or Jl. Permata Hijau.
- Traffic flow from Jl. Gerbang Pemuda towards Jl. Gelora or the back entrance of the parliament complex is turned left towards Jl. Asia Afrika.
- Traffic flow from Jl. Asia Afrika towards TL Lapangan Tembak is turned right towards Jl. Pintu 1 Senayan or U-turn at TL Asia Afrika.
- Traffic flow from Semanggi towards Slipi is diverted left at barrier 2 or Ladokgi towards Jl. Gerbang Pemuda.
- Traffic flow from Slipi towards Jl. Gerbang Pemuda is directed towards Semanggi.
Residents are also advised to avoid the parliament complex to anticipate traffic congestion during the Prabowo-Gibran inauguration.
