TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 7th Indonesian President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, met with President Prabowo Subianto at Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Friday evening, December 6, 2024. Several presidential security forces and security doors were standing by for anyone who wanted to approach Prabowo's residential area.
Jokowi previously stated through his Instagram account that he would go to Jakarta on Friday afternoon, December 6, 2024. He said that he would meet with friends.
"Hopefully, this trip will bring good, and meeting friends will strengthen brotherhood," Jokowi said. The source closest to Jokowi confirmed that the former Jakarta governor had met with Prabowo.
The last meeting between Prabowo and Jokowi took place at Angkringan Omah Semar, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, November 3, 2024. On that occasion, they chatted while enjoying Solo's cuisine.
After a one-hour meeting, Prabowo answered some questions from journalists, including about the food that evening. However, the former Military or TNI general did not answer questions about his discussions with Jokowi.
