TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has been invited to pay a high-level state visit to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The invitation to the head of state was conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, M. Fadjroel Rachman, during a dialogue with Foreign Minister Sugiono at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Sugiono was also asked to accompany Prabowo to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. In the meeting, Fadjroel stated that the Embassy supports five priority works of Foreign Minister Sugiono.
The five priority works include national resilience diplomacy, economic diplomacy based on Pancasila, enhancing Indonesia's influence regionally and globally, improving the protection of Indonesian citizens and the role of the diaspora, and optimizing diplomatic infrastructure.
He also expressed support for Prabowo Subianto's foreign policy vision. That is to be free and active, to be positioned as a non-aligned country, and to fulfill the mandate of the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.
During the working visit to Indonesia, Fadjroel also visited several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet. "We discussed the development of Indonesia's diplomacy in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, as well as the cooperation opportunities that can be maximized in both countries," he said, as quoted from a written statement on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
In addition to visiting Prabowo's cabinet ministers, he said he also met with a number of business actors in Indonesia. Fadjroel mentioned that the Indonesian Embassy in Astana has prepared a platform for domestic business actors to enter Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Central Asia, and Eurasia.
This is supported by a multilateral agreement between the Indonesian government and Kazakhstan, namely the Indonesia-Eurasia Free Trade Agreement. This multilateral agreement will make it easier for Indonesian businesses to enter the markets of Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.
The idea of opening new markets is in line with Foreign Minister Sugiono's statement during a consultation meeting with the House of Representatives Commission I on December 2. Sugiono stated that the government would focus on developing new and non-traditional markets for Indonesian commodities.
