TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology has announced the requirements and schedule for the 2025 National Selection Based on Performance (SNBP) for the admission of new students to state universities. For 2025, the Ministry of Education provides an additional quota of five percent for schools using e-Report.
"The different provision this year is that we encourage schools to use e-Report in filling the School and Student Database," said the Chair of the National Selection Committee for New Student Admissions (SNPMB), Eduart Wolok, in a press conference held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
According to Eduart, the use of e-Report can speed up the data collection process as it is filled out by the school every semester. The Rector of Gorontalo State University also mentioned that there are currently 8,000 high schools, 7,900 vocational schools, and 9,000 madrasas using e-Report.
However, since not all schools are using e-Report, the committee provides an option by offering incentives to schools that have implemented them. "We still provide two options because we do not want anyone to be disadvantaged," said Eduardt.
Schools accredited A will receive a quota of 40 percent of students applying for SNBP. Meanwhile, schools accredited B will receive a quota of 25 percent, and schools accredited C will receive a quota of 5 percent. However, if using e-Raports, according to Eduart, schools accredited A will receive a quota of 45 percent; schools accredited B will get 30 percent, and schools accredited C will receive 10 percent.
Eduart also stated that the filling of the School and Student Database System (PDSS) will accommodate the national school curriculum, namely the 2013 Curriculum and Merdeka Curriculum. Students eligible to apply for SNBP are high school students in their final year in 2025 with outstanding achievements. Registration for SNPMB School accounts is open from January 6 to 31, 2025. Subsequently, schools can fill out PDSS from January 6 to 31, 2025.
Here are some general provisions for SNBP:
1. SNBP is based on academic achievement using academic reports and academic as well as non-academic achievements.
2. Schools participating in SNBP must have a National School Identification Number and fill out eligible student reports in PDSS.
3. Schools must have student SNPMB accounts.
