TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, collectively known as Prabowo-Gibran, were officially sworn in as President and Vice President of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period on Sunday, October 20.
The Prabowo-Gibran administration has outlined its first 100-day work plan, with a strong emphasis on economic and security priorities. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed these plans during a press conference on Monday, October 21, 2024.
“First, we will await the President's directions. Second, regarding our targets, we already have established medium and long-term goals,” Airlangga stated as reported by Antara.
These goals include achieving energy self-sufficiency, food self-sufficiency, job creation, increased investment, and reducing the Gini ratio and poverty rate.
Regarding the Revised State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN-P), Airlangga indicated that no decisions have been made yet, as the new Cabinet is still assessing the government's current situation.
Airlangga is once again entrusted as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy in the Merah Putih Cabinet. Since 2019, he has held the position after being appointed by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi in the Working Cabinet of Indonesia.
He has played a pivotal role in formulating various economic policies. His responsibilities now extend further due to the absence of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment. Several technical ministries previously under this coordinating ministry, such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Investment Coordinating Board, and the Ministry of Tourism, now fall under the purview of the Ministry of Economy.
