Anwar Ibrahim, Xanana Gusmao Arrive in Jakarta for Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Special envoys from various friendly countries have begun to arrive in Indonesia, ahead of the inauguration of the President and Vice President of the Republic, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. They arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport since Saturday morning, October 19, 2024.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived at 18:20 Jakarta time. He was received by Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani. Each guest was greeted with a Head of State-level reception procession.

Another figure who has arrived is Linda Thomas Greenfield, Special Envoy of the President of the United States. Linda Thomas Greenfield arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta on Saturday, October 19, 2024, around 14:25. Earlier, Pabitra Margherita, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at around 13:20.

On Saturday morning, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Special Envoy of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at around 09:00. Meanwhile, Nancy Namrouqa, Special Envoy from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, also arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport around 07:40.

Previously, Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday morning at 06:35. Then, Pany Yathotou, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, arrived at 11:35.

Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, arrived shortly thereafter around 13:00. Meanwhile, around 14:00, Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, along with his companion arrived in Jakarta.

Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah, arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 15:00. Subsequently, Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, arrived at 15:40. At the same time, Prime Minister of Serbia, Milos Vucevic, also arrived in Jakarta.

A total of 1,100 guests will attend the inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran at the Parliament Building, Senayan on Sunday, October 20, 2024. State guests who have confirmed attendance come from 20 countries plus a UN representative and there will be 13 special representatives of heads of state. Until 19:00, state guests were still arriving.

Presidential Secretariat Chief Heru Budi Hartono said that the Government had prepared well to receive the state guests. 

Heru mentioned that the central government had cooperated with the Jakarta provincial government to broadcast the arrival of state guests on all LED and videotron screens in Jakarta.

"Everything has been prepared by us and also by the designated hotels," said the former Acting Governor of Jakarta 2022-2024 at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
