TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Astro Bot received four awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards on Thursday, December 12, 2024. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Astro Bot also received awards for best game director, best action-adventure game, and best family game.
The event featured appearances by some of the most famous figures in the entertainment and video game industries, including Aaron Paul, Ella Purnell, Harrison Ford, Hideo Kojima, Khalid, Laura Bailey, Todd Howard, and Troy Baker.
About Astro Bot
1. Game of the Year 2024
According to IGN, Astro Bot won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024, taking home the prize in a category that also included Balatro, Black Myth Wukong, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
2. PS5
Astro Bot is an inventive and nostalgic platformer of the highest order. Sony PlayStation launched Astro Bot on PS5, on September 6, 2024. Amidst the flow of popular games targeting adults, such as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Stellar Blade, Astro Bot is a game that can be played by all ages.
3. Synopsis
Astro Bot is the second PlayStation exclusive game to provide an Indonesian language option after Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in 2023. The story is similar to Astro Bot Rescue Mission. Astro must save his friends who are being held captive by monsters. The new element is in the power ups. On each planet, Astro gets special skills, for example, wearing a backpack that can inflate and make him float.
4. Slapstick Humor
Astro Bot provides a new sensation in every corner and cranny that is passed. The game, designed by developer Team Asobi, raises the spirits of these platformers by giving birth to new stages of visual decoration that never cross the line and become just something new.
A touch of irony and light slapstick humor keeps Astro cheerful. There are around 150 characters from the vast PlayStation game library who have entered the Astro world in the form of other bots.
