TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Jakarta will be partly cloudy on the day of the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period of 2024-2029, Sunday, October 20, 2024.
According to the BMKG website, Central Jakarta, where the inauguration of the president and vice president will take place, as well as the public stage, is predicted to have no rain. The area will experience thick cloudy weather from 00:00 to 13:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Then partly cloudy from 14:00 to 16:00 WIB. While from 17:00 to 18:00, it will be partly cloudy and return to partly cloudy weather until 23:00 WIB.
In South Jakarta, the weather is also predicted to be cloudy from morning until 13:00 WIB before changing to partly cloudy from 14:00 WIB until night. The same is predicted to occur in West Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Thousand Islands.
The air temperature is predicted to reach 34 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of 5-10 kilometers per hour from the south and humidity around 60-75 percent.
Prior to this, the Head of Climate Change Information Center at BMKG, A. Fachri Radjab, said that there were no significant indications based on today's weather forecast data, so the presidential inauguration event is expected to proceed smoothly.
"The weather in Jakarta around Senayan on Sunday will be sunny in the morning. Normal weather conditions for the people who want to witness the inauguration directly," said Fachri Radjab on Thursday, October 27, 2024, as quoted by Antara.
The oath-taking ceremony for Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the president and vice president will be held around 10:00 at the DPR-MPR Building. In addition to guests from friendly countries, the event will be attended by members of the DPR, former presidents and vice presidents, and leaders of political parties.
The inauguration event will also be enlivened by a public stage event held along Jenderal Sudirman and MH Thamrin Streets, Central Jakarta.
