TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is the de facto ruler, condemns Israel's attacks on Gaza. He mentions that Israel is committing genocide against Palestine.

"The kingdom renews its strong condemnation and rejection of the genocide carried out by Israel against our Palestinian brothers," said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.

He urges the international community to cease Israel's attacks on Iran and respect Iran's sovereignty. In September, he stated that Saudi Arabia will not recognize Israel unless the state of Palestine is established.

As reported by Al Jazeera, Prince Mohammed bin Salman calls on Israel to refrain from further aggressive actions. He calls on countries worldwide to recognize the state of Palestine.

During a press conference on Monday, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit referred to an article in the closing statement of the summit that freezes Israel's membership in the UN General Assembly. He stated that the membership freeze would not be under the jurisdiction of the Security Council and could be decided by the General Assembly.

"We may soon witness the freezing of membership (of Israel) through a UNGA majority decision," Aboul Gheit said as quoted by NDTV.

The closing statement of the OIC summit demands all countries to prohibit the export or transfer of weapons and ammunition to Israel and urges the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for civilian and military officials in Israel.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated at the summit that his country is currently facing an unprecedented crisis due to Israel's war on Hezbollah. "Lebanon is experiencing a historical and existential crisis like never before that threatens its present and future," he said.

The high-level summit was not attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. However, First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref, who attended the summit, condemned Israel's killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.

President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, and President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu also attended the summit.

In the closing statement on Monday, the gathered leaders strongly condemned Israel's military actions, particularly the genocide crimes in northern Gaza Strip over the past few weeks. They mentioned torture, executions, disappearances, and ethnic cleansing by Israel.

The OIC member states, consisting of 57 countries, and the Arab League member states, consisting of 22 countries, include nations that acknowledge Israel and countries that strongly oppose its regional integration.
