TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  Indonesia experienced 0.30 percent of inflation in November, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported. Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, stated that this inflation rate is higher compared to October 2024.

Amalia mentioned the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 106.01 to 106.33 this month. In terms of year-on-year, inflation was recorded at 1.55 percent, while the year-to-date inflation stood at 1.12 percent.

"The inflation rate is still lower compared to November 2023," she said on Monday, December 2, 2024, as quoted from BPS’ YouTube channel.

BPS recorded that core components experienced inflation of 0.17 percent. Meanwhile, government-controlled price components experienced inflation of 0.12 percent, and volatile price components experienced inflation of 1.07 percent.

Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the rise in most expenditure group indices. The largest contributor to the month-to-month inflation expenditure group was food, beverages, and tobacco, with inflation of 0.78 percent or contributing 0.22 percent in total. The main contributors to inflation were shallots and tomatoes.

Meanwhile, BPS recorded that rice experienced deflation of 0.45 percent in November 2024, occurring in 24 provinces. The most significant pressure occurred in the Papua Highlands Province.

However, the pressure on rice historically showed a slowdown in October, which BPS said has occurred for the past three years.
