TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and President Prabowo Subianto have approved the draft revision of the Law on State-Owned Enterprises (RUU BUMN) to be approved in the upcoming Plenary Meeting. "Therefore, we can conclude that the eight factions in Commission VI of the DPR have approved the Bill on the third amendment to Law Number 18 of 2003 concerning BUMN to be further discussed at the level 2 plenary meeting of the DPR RI," said Chairperson of Commission VI of the DPR RI Anggia Erma Rini at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The draft approved by the DPR was then responded to by Minister of Law Supratpan Andi Agtas as the representative of President Prabowo Subianto. In his conclusion, Andi stated that Prabowo approved the entire contents of the Bill. "May we represent President Prabowo Subianto in this level one meeting, the government states that it supports the BUMN Bill to be discussed further in the level two plenary meeting," said Andi.
Some of the main points regulated in the bill are regulations related to the establishment of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BP) (Danantara), investment implementation, operational implementation, restructuring, privatization, establishment of subsidiaries and dissolution of BUMN.
Not only that, the bill also regulates the monopoly rights for BUMN to produce and/or market goods and/or services related to the livelihoods of many people. "As well as branches of production that are important to the state in the interests of the state and/or other matters based on considerations from the central government," said Andi while reading the main points approved by the President.
Later, these regulations will be ratified in a plenary meeting scheduled for February 4, 2025. This was conveyed by Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad when met in front of the meeting room. "We plan to have a meeting on Tuesday next week," he told reporters.
