TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's assistance in the form of mobile clinic services for Palestinian refugees in Al Sukhneh camp, Al Zarqa, Jordan, provided through the Indonesian National Alms Agency (Baznas), has started operations.
Baznas head Noor Achmad noted in a statement released in Jakarta on Saturday, Oct. 19, that the mobile clinic assistance is an initiative to provide accessible health services to Palestinian refugees who lack access to adequate services, Antara reported.
"The mobile clinic is part of Baznas' humanitarian missions, which are not only focused on Indonesia but also pay attention to the conditions of Muslims and international communities," he noted.
According to Achmad, the mobile clinic services provide basic health facilities and have medical personnel on standby to serve Palestinian refugees in need.
"We hope that through this small step, we can bring great benefits, especially to the Palestinian and Syrian refugees in Jordan, as well as to the local population in need of health care," he noted.
Achmad thanked the government and humanitarian institutions in Jordan for their full support, as well as all of Baznas' partners who have supported the program.
He also affirmed that a healthy synergy between agencies, government, and the community is key to the success of any social and humanitarian initiative.
"This mobile clinic is not only a symbol of health aid but also a representation of the spirit of cooperation and our common concern to continue to maintain the health and well-being of the people, especially in areas affected by humanitarian crises," he noted.
