TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is set to hold a plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, December 2, 2024. The plenary session is scheduled to start around 3:00 p.m. local time.
Several ministers, heads of agencies, and state institutions arrived since 2:00 p.m., including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and the Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo.
"We will have a plenary cabinet meeting later. We’ll see (what’s in the agenda),” said Airlangga.
Prabowo previously postponed the full cabinet meeting on Friday afternoon, November 29, 2024, where he announced the hike in provincial minimum wage.
Today's meeting marks the third cabinet meeting in Prabowo’s administration. The head of state held the inaugural plenary meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 23. The second Cabinet Meeting was held on November 6 before Prabowo departed for his first official foreign trip that lasted for over two weeks.
During that meeting, the former TNI General gave directives and instructions regarding his planned trip overseas. Prabowo visited China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates from November 8 to November 24.
To his staff, Prabowo emphasized the importance of active and open communication while he was abroad. Through modern technology, the Head of State ensures that coordination can continue through video conferences.
Prabowo also stressed the importance of collegial work within the cabinet to achieve common goals for the welfare of the people. He hopes that the interagency relationships in his government can be conducted with a spirit of equality and away from formal and feudal communication patterns.
"We are colleagues, we serve the people together. Maybe I hold a position that can be considered a leader of our team. Indeed, I am the mandate holder, I accept the mandate from the people together with the Vice President, but we are equal in our duties, our responsibility to the people," said President Prabowo.
