TEMPO.CO, Hambalang - President Prabowo Subianto has called on the winners of the simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) 2024 to embrace those who lost and work together to serve the people. Today, millions of Indonesian citizens exercise their democratic right to choose their regional leaders.
“Whoever the people choose, that's the best. Winning and losing are inevitable in any competition. The losers must accept the outcome gracefully, and the winners must embrace them. Most importantly, the winners must lead everyone in serving the people,” Prabowo said after casting his vote at Polling Station 08 in Bojong Koneng, Bogor, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Tempo observed that Prabowo arrived at Polling Station 08 around 8:46 a.m. in the Presidential Maung car, a domestically-produced vehicle manufactured by PT Pindad with license plate number RI 1.
Dressed in a cream brown shirt and dark brown trousers, he was greeted upon arrival by Commander of III Siliwangi Military Region Major General Dadang Arif Abdurahman, Chief of West Java Police Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus, Acting Regent of Bogor Bachril Bakri, Bogor Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Rio Wahyu Anggoro, Speaker of the Bogor Legislative Council (DPRD) Sastra Winata, and Secretary of Bogor Regency Ajat Rochmat Jatnika.
After exchanging greetings with the officials, the President proceeded directly to Polling Station 08 and cast his vote. Following him, Acting Bogor Regent Bachril Bakri, Bogor DPRD Speaker Sastra Winata, and Bogor Regency Secretary Ajat Rochmat Jatnika also exercised their voting rights.
“The President, the DPRD Speaker, and the Regency Secretary cast their votes for both the regent and governor, as they are registered voters in Bogor Regency. Meanwhile, the Acting Regent only voted for the governor of West Java, as his domicile is in Bekasi,” explained Adi Kurnia, Chair of the Bogor Regency KPU.
