TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his support for the Indonesian national team as it faced Saudi Arabia in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian zone on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. During a state visit, he watched the match on his cell phone.
Prabowo watched the match during a road trip in the middle of a series of state visits. The duel between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in the sixth match of Group C in the third round took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, tonight at 07:00 p.m. Jakarta time.
The match ended 2-0 for Indonesia. Marselino Ferdinan scored both goals for the Garuda team in the 32nd and 57th minutes.

The Indonesian national team secured its first win in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian Zone by defeating Saudi Arabia at home on Tuesday. The three points moved Shin Tae-yong's team into third place in Group C with six points.
Indonesia collected the same points as Saudi Arabia and China, who are fourth and fifth. Australia, in second place, also have the same points but have yet to play their sixth match against Bahrain, who are currently bottom with five points. Group leader Japan remains strong with 16 points after a 3-1 win over China on Tuesday.
